Remembrance Day - November 11, 2006
Fort York, Toronto
On Saturday November 11, the Incorporated Militia participated in Historic Fort York's Remembrance Day Ceremony. Lead by the fort staff, the memorial service was also attended by members of the King's Regiment, the IODE, Fort York Armoury, The Toronto Firefighters, representatives of Canada's Armed Forces, World War 1 re-enactors and members of the public. Once again Historic Fort York's staff took the lead, keeping the memory of those that have gone before us, alive. The laying of wreaths, the playing of The Last Post and the firing of the WWI eighteen pounder were included in the morning's events. What an appropriate place to honour Canada's many war heroes, the battlefield of the Battle of York!
