Queenston Heights - October 12 and 13th, 2007
Queenston, Ontario
October 12 and 13th, 2007 found members of the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada and approximately 150 other re-enactors participating in the commemoration of the Battle of Queenston Heights.
After spending the evening of the 12th comfortably in the Guardhouse (the Guard's side, not the prisoner's side) at Fort George, we took our postions in the column and marched the 12 kilometres to the Heights to re-enact the battle. Losing only one man, a Pvt. Hovey, our members completed the march, had a glorious luncheon, rested briefly, and then fell into vigourous combat with the foe. A splendid time was had by all.
Many thanks to Dave Webb and his colleagues at Parks Canada for presenting an outstanding and worthy event. It was the highlight of a stellar season. Congratulations to all the units, friend and foe alike who undertook this endeavour. You've done our forebears proud.
