The Battle of Mississinewa - Oct 13th - 14th 2006
Marion, Indiana
This past weekend the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada journeyed the 835 km from the Toronto area to Marion Indiana to help commemorate one of the first battles of the War of 1812 in North America. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and made to feel a valued part of the event right away. We would like to thank Martin Lake and the Mississinewa Battlefield Society for including the Incorporated Militia this year. We definitely plan on returning.
The 95th Rifles Association from Fort Leavenworth Kansas also made our stay memorable by inviting us to lunch both days. Your kindness was very much appreciated. We hope to reciprocate at an upcoming event. It must be something about the green tunics!
We would also like to thank the Royal Scots Grenadiers for insisting we come. Mississinewa 1812, is definitely a great way to end the 2006 re-enactor season!
