Battle of Longwoods - May 7th and 8th 2005
Delaware, Ontario
On the weekend of May 7th & 8th, 2005 the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada returned to Delaware Ontario (near London Ontario) for the Battle of Longwoods, which once again was superbly organized, by the Royal Scots. It was a great start to what will be a very busy re-enacting season. Even the weather cooperated! It was good to get the canvas and wool back out onto the field.
As well as the bush skirmishes, battalion drills and battle re-enactments, we took time to remember and honour the veterans from World War II on Sunday, the 60th anniversary of VE Day. Our regimental surgeon, Phil Mozel organized the tribute and Mark Feltoe of the Glengarry Light Infantry played The Last Post.
