Celebrate Barrie - June 5, 2010
The line from the Incorporated Militia once again joined the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and the Glengarry Light Infantry to help the City of Barrie with their annual Celebrate Barrie program. Promotional material included:
Battle Re-enactment and Military Tactical/Musket Demonstrations
Glengarry Light Infantry & The Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada
Be on guard as American raiding parties have been spotted on Lake
Simcoe and may try and pillage the village of Barrie at any time. British
troops, along with militia and native allies are on the defensive as they
demonstrate to the public 19th century military tactics, drill and musket
firing. A public address announcer will talk you through the
manoeuvres and explain the theories and practicalities of why men
fought the way they did during the War of 1812. Military displays,
uniforms, encampments, equipment and weaponry will also be
available to the public for hands on viewing and questions and
answers. Battle re-enactments will take place at 10:45pm, 12:45pm,
2:45pm & 4:30pm.

Port Dover - June 19-20, 2010
Once again the Incorporated Militia of Upper "Connecticut" participated in the battles in Port Dover Ontario. We take on the e persona of IMU Connecticut to allow The Norfolk Militia to portray Redcoats in their home county of Norfolk. We were involved in three battle scenarios. One along a right of way and one on the beach with support from the navy. We would like to again thank Ian Bell of the Norfolk Port Dover harbour Museum, all the volunteers and Tom Fournier of the 41st for a well run event.
