Regimental Rentals

In the course of the re-enacting season the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada is available to enhance historical presentations and ventures. This year we are involved with five different events.

Bolton Antique Show and Sale
On May 14th we were present to do camp and drill demonstrations at the Bolton Antique Show and Sale sponsored by Steve's Auctions. While different vendors set up their booths of antiques and memorabilia, the members of IMUC did drill and tactical demonstrations. In the afternoon the Campfollowers put on "Tea" for the ladies.

Bobcaygeon Settlers' Day
On June 25th, as part of Bobcaygeon's annual Settlers Day celebrations, the Incorporated Militia set up their camp on the village grounds. While other local groups demonstrated early pioneer skills, the Incorporated Militia participated in period drill, life style and open fire cooking demonstrations. As usual the many public very well received the members of the Military Re-Enactment Society in attendance.

Highland Creek Legion Canada Day Celebrations
For the past three years the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada have been part of the Highland Creek Legion's (Branch 258) Canada Day parade and festivities. The Legion invited the IMUC as well as veterans from Canada's many wartime and peace keeping forces to come together to support their Canada Day celebrations. Pipe bands, antique military vehicles, army cadets, a beer garden, and children's activities fill their daylong celebration.

Scugog Shores Historical Museum - Harvest Festival, September 25, 2005

The Incorporated Militia was honoured to be able to assist the staff and volunteers at the Scugog Shores Historical Museum once again, with their annual Harvest Festival. Three military tactical demonstrations, an ongoing display table and a Ladies' Tea added to the many other period activities put on by the local artisans and historians.
