1812 Grand Tactical - July 20th & 21st, 2007
Fort Niagara, Youngstown, New York
Each year the Crown Forces North America organizes a Grand Tactical to which all members of the 1812 community make every effort to attend. This year's venue was Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown, New York.
Doug DeCroix and his staff and volunteers did a superb job of organizing the period camp and the three different battles that occurred on the weekend. Along with the infantry units on both sides, there were naval and artillery units in attendance. This year we were able to take three different sets of Colours onto the field, The Colours of the 89th Regiment, The Colours of the Canadian Fencibles and our own.
Participants travelled from as far away as Manitoba, California, Florida, Missouri, Kansas and North Carolina. Each year the Grand Tacticals get better and better both for the participants and the public!
Additional coverage can be found with:
The Glengarry Light Infantry
The 41st Regiment
The 89th Regiment
Royal Scots Grenadier Co.
Our newest IMUC-cam, Kevyn GFI Brown, is responsible for many of the panoramic battle shots.
