IMUC Mess Dinner - April 10, 2010
On April 10, the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada held their annual IMUC Mess Dinner in the Blue Barracks of Old Fort York in Toronto. Along with members of the Incorporated Militia, regimental friends form the 41st Regiment, Glengrary Light Infantry, the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and the Norfolk Militia attended this gala evening. Dave Brunelle of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and honorary member of the Incorporated Militia, spoke of his role as War of 1812 Bicentennial coordinator. All would agree that the Mess Dinner was a great way to start the new season.

Battle of York Field Day - April 25, 2010
Old Fort York, Toronto
This past weekend was a very busy one for the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada. On April 24th several of our officers and NCOs attended the School of the Soldier at Fort George in Niagara-on-the-lake to go over field refinements made by the Crown Forces North America. These refinements were brought back to the rest of the regiment and put into place at Fort York on the anniversary of the first American attack. As well as IMUC, members of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and the Glengarry Light Infantry were in attendance. All three of these regiments had been at the fort with the 8th or King's Regiment when the Americans attacked on April 27, 1813.
As part of the ceremonies, the 48th Highland Regiment placed a wreath on behalf of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment at the military cemetery in Victoria Square, just a few blocks from the fort. Members of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada provided an honour guard.
The US 22nd and 23rd Regiments were also at the fort this weekend for their annual field days. With the re-enacting season getting into full swing next week at the Battle of Longwoods, this weekend at Fort York allowed many re-enactors to get ready for the season.
Two of our members are also members of the Regency Dancers. The Regency dancers demonstrated period dances throughout the day and encouraged the public and re-enactors to join in.
