The Incorporated Militia is always looking for more good men. If you are over 18 years of age, have an interest in the history of our country and have at least two opposing teeth (for biting through a black powder cartridge) then you too can join the thin red line to repel the American invaders.



Younger recruits (13 to 18) are welcome to join our fife and drum corps, if a parent/guardian joins IMUC or the Camp Followers.

We are a family-friendly unit famous for our great hospitality, comfortable (if not necessarily regulation) accommodations, the speed and crispness of our musketry, the sharpness of our drill and the camaraderie of our unit!

Our members come from across Ontario and we're based in the Toronto area, representing all ages and walks of life. All you need to join is an interest in the War of 1812 and a pair of black boots a white shirt: we'll outfit you with the kit you need to get started.

What do I need to be/do to be a member of the MRSC?

To be in the field, you need to be eighteen years of age or older and in reasonably good shape! Remember, you will be expected to re-enact battles and march as well as carry equipment... If you have any health conditions or physical concerns, please let us know when you fill out our recruiting form in the area labeled for "special concerns".

Other than that, you will need to invest a MINIMUM of five weekends per season (five events) to continue with the MRSC. See our calendar for event dates and times.

Camp followers (children and women) and musicians of any age are also welcome to join in. Again, just let us know on the recruiting form.

Youngsters under eighteen MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to join on any level.

Other than that, a good spirit and a love of history is highly recommended!
